30+ Monster Mash of Halloween Finger Foods Perfect for Your Party

Sometimes I like to think of Hallowe’en party foods as regular party foods dressed up in costumes!

And I love putting them together because I love figuring out how to make things look spooky.

I’ve made my fair share of Halloween finger foods and I found the trick is to not get bogged down by complicated recipes and weird ingredients.

Like turning hot dogs into mummies or olives into spiders.

All easier than you think!

The kids always get a kick out of my creations and the adults can’t keep their fingers off them.

Just remember that the key is to keep things fun and simple, so you’re not stuck in the kitchen all day.

Anyway, here are some halloween finger foods that are perfect for your next ghoulish gathering:

1. Hot Dog Mummies

These are super cute and so easy to make!

All you need are some crescent roll sheets and a pack of hot dogs.

Cut the dough into thin strips and wrap them around the hot dogs cross-crossed (doesn’t have to be neat and tidy).

Make sure to leave little gaps so it looks like bandages.

Pop them in the oven until the dough turns golden.

Add some candy eyes to complete the look!

2. Coffin Sandwiches

Grab a loaf of sandwich bread and cut each slice into coffin shapes (triangles with a squared bottom work just fine).

Fill them with whatever you like, peanut butter and jelly or ham and cheese.

If you want to be extra, press the edges with a fork so they stay sealed and neat.

You can make a little cross on top with a couple strips of salami or a couple swipes of jam.

These are easy finger foods to throw together and they always disappear fast.

3. Spooky Mini Pizzas

Start with English muffin halves and spread on some pizza sauce.

Then use things like cheese slices, cheese strings and black olives to make faces.

Bake them until the cheese bubbles (they don’t need to bake for long).

It’s a fun Halloween food the kids can help make too!

If you’re having a party with kiddos, set up a station and let them come up with their own creations.

4. Spider Web Pizza Bites

Here’s another cute little pizza idea!

This one uses mini bagel halves but you can also use round crackers too.

Spread a little sauce and cheese on each.

Then cut a black olive in half: use one half for the body and slice the other half for legs.

Pop it on and bake them until the cheese just melts.

(No one will judge you if you microwave them.)

These ones are a little creepy but totally tasty!

5. Ghost Hand Pies

Use store-bought pie crust or crescent roll dough and cut out ghost shapes with a cookie cutter (or a knife if you have a steady hand).

Make sure you cut out little eyes and mouth on the top piece!

Fill each one with whatever you want and seal them with a fork.

Some yummy ideas are:

  • Taco meat and cheese
  • Hamburger and cheese
  • Cherry pie filling
  • Blackberry pie filling

Brush the tops with egg wash so they turn golden in the oven.

I love how versatile is because you can literally stuff them with whatever you want.

6. Pumpkin Pizza Bombs

These ones look complicated but bear with me!

All you need is pizza dough, twine, and some pizza filling.

Prep your dough and let it rise (you can make it from scratch or buy pre-made stuff).

While that’s happening, soak the twine in olive oil and prep the pizza filling in a bowl.

I usually do something simple like sauce, shredded cheese, and chopped pepperoni.

Roll out the dough into small circles, plop on a spoonful of filling, then bring the edges up and seal them to make a ball.

Tie the twine around it to get that segmented pumpkin look.

Brush with some butter and bake…that easy!

7. Boo-schetta

These are just too adorable!

Slice up a baguette and toast the pieces lightly.

Spread them with a layer of cream cheese or mozzarella, then top with diced tomatoes and basil like classic bruschetta.

To make them ghostly, cut mozzarella into ghost shapes and let them melt slightly on top.

A couple of olive bits make perfect little eyes.

8. Jalapeno Mummies

Halve jalapeños, scoop out the seeds, and stuff them with cream cheese.

Wrap each one with thin strips of crescent roll dough, leaving space for “eyes.”

Bake until the dough is golden and the peppers are tender.

Add little candy eyes or dots of sour cream for the finishing touch.

Just watch out because they are a bit spicy!

9. Pizza Skulls

You’ll need a skull-shaped baking pan for this one, but you won’t regret the investment!

Fill each cavity with pizza dough, a spoonful of sauce, and shredded mozzarella, then top with another layer of dough to seal it in.

Bake until golden and carefully pop them out.

The skulls hold their shape, and when you bite in, the melted cheese oozes out.

Kinda creepy!

10. Skeleton Ribs

This one is so easy and it’s always a hit at Halloween parties!

Cook a rack of ribs however you want then arrange them on a platter so they look like a ribcage.

Add a plastic skull head to the top and that’s it!

You can also add some bbq little smokies at the bottom for guts.

And if you want to up the creepy factor, mix some bbq sauce with red food coloring and slather it all over before serving.

11. Zombie Eye Meatballs

Cook up your favorite meatball recipe or grab frozen ones to save time.

Once they’re heated through, toss them in a thick marinara so they look like they’ve been rolling around in “blood.”

Then make an eyeball by using a small slice of mozzarella with a currant pushed in the middle.

You can serve these in little cups of spaghetti or on toothpicks for easy grabbing.

12. Mozzarella Skulls

You also won’t regret getting a silicone skull mold!

Take one and fill it with slightly melted mozzarella (just enough until it’s soft).

Pop it in the fridge so it sets and holds its shape.

You can use these on a snack board with crackers, meats, or dips.

I’ve also used these in pasta salads.

It’s a really simple and spooky finger food for Halloween.

13. Breadstick Bones

Roll out some pizza dough and shape it into small bone-like pieces by knotting the ends or flattening out the ends.

Brush with garlic butter and bake until golden.

They puff up and split slightly at the ends, so they actually resemble bones.

Serve with marinara “blood” sauce on the side.

14. Pumpkin Deviled Eggs

Dye the yolk filling orange by mixing in a little paprika or food coloring.

Pipe it back into the eggs using a star tip so it looks like tiny pumpkin ridges.

Add a small chive piece on top for the stem.

They’re still the classic deviled eggs everyone loves, just dressed up for Halloween!

15. Crescent Roll Witch Hats

Cut crescent roll dough into triangles but only roll the wide piece up part way.

When you lay them down on the cooking sheet, curl the tops a bit to make the tip of the hat.

Brush with butter and sprinkle with herbs and bake.

That’s it!

They’re super easy and perfect if you need to make a bunch of something in a hurry.

16. Mini Pumpkin Cheeseballs

Tiny pumpkin cheese balls look so cute on individual crackers.

Mix cream cheese with shredded cheddar and seasonings, then roll into small balls.

Coat them in crushed cheese puffs or paprika so they turn bright orange.

Use pretzel sticks as stems and parsley leaves for a little greenery.

You can serve them each on a cracker or cluster them on a plate to look like a patch of pumpkins.

17. Baked Ghostie Chips for Dipping

Use a ghost-shaped cookie cutter to press shapes into flour tortillas.

You can also use clean scissors to cut them out!

Brush with olive oil, sprinkle with salt, and bake until crispy.

Set them out next to salsa, guac, or queso for dipping.

I love this idea because you don’t have to get too fancy with the dip…just make the dippers spooky!

18. Salami Mozza Eyeballs

Slice mozzarella into rounds and layer a thin slice of salami on top.

Add an olive slice in the middle for the pupil.

If you want them extra creepy, use food coloring or hot sauce streaks to mimic veins!

Set them on crackers for easy grabbing or on a platter by themselves.

They’re a little eerie, but they taste too good to pass up.

19. Hot Dog Spiders

Slice each end of a hot dog into four strips, leaving the middle intact so it looks like a body.

Then wrap a bit of crescent dough around the middle and press in some olives for eyes.

Bake them until the dough turns golden.

Serve them on a plate with a little dish of ketchup or mustard for dipping.

They’re a little creepy but still funny enough to make people grab one with a smile.

20. Scare-chuterie Board

This one is all about presentation, so gather up meats, cheeses, fruits, and crackers!

I like to mainly use dark foods like cherry jams, blackberries, purple grapes, and sliced pepperoni.

Then you can add in other snacks…including those mozzarella skulls I mentioned earlier!

Oh, and before you arrange your foods, lay out a small plastic skeleton and place everything around it.

Makes it a little extra eerie!

21. Witch’s Finger Cookies

Make a simple sugar cookie dough and roll it into finger shapes.

Press in an almond at one end for the nail, then use a knife to score little knuckle lines.

Once baked, brush the “nails” with red food coloring or jam so they look a little gruesome.

You can also do the base of the finger too.

They hold their shape really well and taste just like a buttery sugar cookie should.

22. Ghostie Strawberries

Dip fresh strawberries into melted white chocolate and let them cool on wax paper.

While the coating is still soft, add mini chocolate chips or melted dark chocolate dots for eyes and a little open mouth.

The white chocolate hardens into a smooth shell that makes them look like tiny ghosts with red fruit peeking underneath.

They’re sweet, a little tangy, and much easier to make than they look!

23. Spellbook Brownies

Bake up a pan of brownies (or buy some, no judgment) and cut them into rectangles.

Pipe frosting or melted chocolate on top to create the look of spellbook covers.

A lot of people do the stitch down the side and then one big ol’ eyeball like the spellbook from Hocus Pocus.

But you can get creative with designs like crosses, stars, or even the word “Spells” along with some edible glitter or colored sugar.

24. Bloody Pretzels

Melt white chocolate and dip pretzels so they’re completely coated (or buy yogurt covered pretzels).

Let them dry, then drizzle red candy melts or tinted icing over the top to look like dripping blood.

The combination of sweet and salty makes them hard to resist!

Lay them out on parchment so the red drizzle really shows.

25. Rice Krispie Brains

Bake a batch of Rice Krispies and marshmallows and while it’s still warm mix in enough red food coloring to tint it pink.

Then shape the mixture into ovals and press gently down the middle with a knife to make the brain shape.

That’s it!

I’ve also seen them made by making half circle shapes and then pressing two together.

Either way, they kind of do look like brains, which is perfect for a Halloween gathering!

26. Oreo Spiders

Super easy finger food to make and perfect for the kiddos!

Take pretzel sticks, shove them gently into the sides of the Oreos to make legs, then you’re done.

But if you want to get fancy, you can use a bit of icing to “glue” candy eyes to the top.

And these are another one that’s easy enough for the kids to help out with.

27. Meringue Ghost Cookies

Whip egg whites with sugar until you have stiff peaks, then pipe them into ghost shapes on a baking sheet.

Bake low and slow so they stay crisp and white.

Once cooled, add chocolate dot eyes and a little round mouth.

A tray full of them almost feels like a little ghostly choir!

28. Jack O’ Lantern Popcorn Balls

Make a batch of gooey popcorn balls by mixing melted marshmallow with popped corn.

Make sure to tint the mixture orange with food coloring before shaping.

Once they’re set, press in green candy or pretzel sticks for stems.

Press in bits of chocolate for the jack o’ lantern face.

They’re chewy, crunchy, and perfectly festive for handing out in individual wraps.

29. Pumpkin Cheesecake Truffles

Blend cream cheese with crushed graham crackers and pumpkin purée, then roll the mixture into small balls.

You can dip them in melted chocolate or leave them as is and roll them in a pumpkin spice mix.

Use little chocolate chips for the stems.

These disappear quickly once the first person grabs one.

30. Eyeball Banana Sushi Rolls

I couldn’t wait to try these ones!

Peel a banana and spread a layer of nut butter or cream cheese along the sides.

Roll it in a tortilla then slice into rounds.

Add a blueberry or chocolate chip in the center of each slice to create the pupil.

You can also use larger candy eyes.

And a little red gel icing or thin strawberry jam lines can give them a veiny look!

31. Boo-nanas

Halloween finger foods can be healthy too!

All you need to do to make boo-nanas is peel a banana and stick in mini chocolate chips point first to make the eyes.

Done and done.

To make them a bit fancy you can drizzle them with white chocolate or dip them halfway.

They’re a simple and healthy option that’s still spooky and fun.

32. Skull Cucumbers

Same goes for these skull cucumbers!

Just slice a cucumber into rounds, then shape the rounds into a skull shape with eyes and teeth.

Arrange them on the platter and get people to notice by sprinkling with some everything bagel seasoning!

It’s a cute and refreshing way to balance out all the sweets on the table.

(And even people who claim they don’t snack on veggies end up grabbing a few.)

33. Carrot Pumpkins

Take large carrots and slice them into thin coins.

Use a small paring knife or mini cookie cutter to carve pumpkin faces into each slice.

Scatter them across a veggie tray or place them on top of a salad.

They add a cheerful orange pop while staying bite-sized and crisp.

34. Monster Lips

Slice apples into wedges and spread a little peanut butter on one side of each slice.

Sandwich two together with mini marshmallows in between for teeth.

If you want them to look extra creepy, use almond slivers for fangs!

The mix of crunchy, creamy, and chewy makes them fun to eat.

35. Candy Apple Slices

Instead of spending half the day making candy apples, you can make these instead!

Cut some apples into slices and lay them out on some parchment paper.

Drizzle them with caramel and melted chocolate then sprinkled with crushed candy, nuts, or sprinkles.

So easy!

Everything sets quickly so you can whip these up really fast.

Arrange them on parchment so the toppings don’t stick together.

Final Bite Before Midnight

Halloween snacks don’t have to be complicated to be fun, and honestly, that’s the magic of it!

So grab some dough, a few candy eyes, and maybe a squeeze of red icing, and see what kind of monsters show up in your kitchen.
